Dear Students, Parents and Families
Welcome to Scottsdale High School!
Scottsdale High School has approximately 320 students from Years 7-12 and is situated in north east Tasmania. The school draws on students living in such locations as Scottsdale, Ringarooma, Branxholm, Derby, Nabowla and Bridport. Scottsdale High School has a fine tradition of providing quality education to students in the Dorset region and in 2022, the school will celebrate its centenary.
The school motto is ‘Good choices create a better tomorrow’ and students are encouraged to set high aspirations and strive to be the best person they can be. We encourage and promote student voice. We provide a range of Department of Education learning programs including specialist learning opportunities in such areas as advanced manufacturing; agriculture (where students can experience authentic learning at our Stronach View Farm Campus); and outdoor education (including our Mt Cameron Field Study Centre). We also have a Trade Training Centre which caters for Year 11/12 students and adult learners studying vocational courses.
Our committed and skilled team of teachers and support staff work with students and families to achieve strong educational outcomes and build positive home/school partnerships. We value the importance of building relationships with families and our community to nurture effective partnerships for learning and to establish pathways for students into further learning and/or meaningful employment.
Our practice is underpinned by the Department of Education school values of Respect, Aspiration, Growth and Courage; qualities that will prepare our students well for life beyond the school gate.
Our Facebook page provides regular updates about our students’ achievements and the learning programs they are undertaking. Schoolzine is our online communication tool and includes access to our school newsletter.
We look forward to working with students and their families as you undertake your journey through Years 7- 12 and we welcome you to be part of our learning community.
